Not all tantalum sheets are created equal. Even material ordered to typical ASTM specifications can have different properties depending on how it is used. That’s why it’s important to let Non-Ferrous know what your tantalum plate will be used for. Over the years, Non-Ferrous has developed unique manufacturing processes for each application. By adjusting our production processes, we can control the mechanical properties, grain size, texture, and chemistry of the final product. Tantalum has many different applications. Some take advantage of corrosion resistance, some take advantage of density, and some take advantage of high melting points. In heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels used with corrosive chemicals and acids, our tantalum resists erosion and allows customers to keep their plants running without unnecessary maintenance and downtime.
Tantalum Sheet & Plate
We recommend our tantalum 2.5% tungsten alloy for such applications. Our plates are used in a wide range of applications such as magnetic shielding or radiation shielding. These applications range from military satellites to cutting-edge medical technology. Depending on the shielding environment, the tantalum may be pure or may be an alloy containing 2.5% or 10% tungsten.
Some applications require shapes or cups to be stamped out of tantalum sheets. Non-Ferrous can design materials that perform ideally in such applications. By managing the rolling direction, reduction ratio, and the number and temperature of intermediate annealing steps, we can design the right metal for the job.

Packing information for our Tantalum Sheet
Our products are mostly packed in wooden crates, which can protect the tantalum sheet during transportation and handling. A carton is used for small pieces of tantalum sheet.
