Tungsten Flux

Category:

Our tungsten flux (granules) is made by breaking forged tungsten parts, instead of coarse tungsten powder or sintered tungsten powder. It has low oxygen content just as other shaped tungsten parts, the purity is higher than regular tungsten powder when oxygen is deemed as impurity.

Tungsten metal parts

Process difference of our tungsten flux: Sintered tungsten block—Repeatedly forging—Machining—Custom parts —Recycling used parts (guarantee no other impurities are introduced during using)—repeatedly breaking to granules.

W flux, also named as W accelerator, is mostly used as tungsten flux when the usage requires a low oxygen content and other gas elements content. It is used as the flux during the combustion process of high-frequency furnaces in the analysis of infrared carbon and sulfur, as well as in the analysis and measurement of carbon and sulfur in metals like iron, steel alloys, and non-metallic materials.

Properties of tungsten flux, granules, W-Sn alloy granules
Tungsten flux is a bright gray polyhedral particle with a melting point of about 3420℃, a boiling point of about 5560℃, a density of 19.0g/cm3, an average particle size of about 75mm, a sulfur content of no more than 0.0005%, and a carbon content of no more than 0.0008%.
In addition to its fluxing effect, tungsten flux also has the functions of heating, stirring, catalysis, stable combustion, anti-interference, and regulating the acidity and alkalinity of the medium.
How to prepare tungsten flux / W-Sn alloy granules?
1. Spherical ammonium paratungstate is calcined at high temperatures for several hours to obtain tungsten oxide.
2. Tungsten oxide is reduced to metallic tungsten in a hydrogen atmosphere.
3. The reduction product is ball-milled, and then the agglomeration and agglomeration produced during the reduction process are eliminated to obtain uniformly dispersed spherical tungsten particles.
4. The ball-milled tungsten particles are screened to obtain high-purity tungsten particles.
Uses of tungsten flux,  W-Sn alloy granules
1. Due to its low impurity content and high melting point, it is very suitable as a catalyst in the carbon-sulfur analyzer, which can effectively improve the accuracy of the measured value. The carbon and sulfur analyzer can quickly analyze the carbon and sulfur content in solid and fluid materials such as steel, cast iron, copper, alloys, ores, cement, ceramics, carbon compounds, coal, petroleum, lime, etc.
2. It can also be used as a filler for shielding materials to enhance the shielding effect of radiation and is suitable for radiation-proof doors and baffles.
3. Due to its small size, high density, and good corrosion resistance, it is also suitable as a counterweight filler.

We also provide tungsten tin alloy granules (W-Sn alloy granules/particles) as flux, please contact us at inquiry.crucible@winnewtech.com for any inquiries and questions on W flux, W-Sn flux, and other tungsten products.
